picturefromphone-246.jpgCurious thing just happened with my CCU-650 modem.

Suddenly it appeared my CCU-650 was delivering to me very slow speeds.

It seemed like I was getting only 1xRTT speeds reported from http://speedtest.adslthailand.com when i checked there for reference.

The speeds were around 100-110 kbps everytime i checked, this would resemble it connecting as 1xRTT, the speed you will get if you are outside EVDO coverage.

At first i though i was in a badly covered area, but it was like that everywhere i went in Had Yai.

This was with my macbook pro.

Then when i tested it on my windows XP machine in the exact same location it was fast again.

It seemed something might have gotten stuck with the driver.

I entered into the settings for the connection, changed the driver from “Franklin” to “Apple”.

Pressed apply, then i changed it back again to “Franklin” and pressed apply again.

After that operation i was getting fast speeds again, not sure why did happened, maybe i pulled out the modem one too many times without disconnecting it first?

Go to the advanced tab of your “Modem” properties, and change the “Vendor” from “Franklin” to “Apple”, and back again, press apply on both changes, this should resolve that problem, if anyone else than me ever experienced it.
