Some users seem to have the problem of the little icon from the C-motech connection manager is going pink or going into a “dormant” sleep state in order to open up the connection pool for other users.
After this it will not go blue/green and start transmitting / sending / receiving again,
I was not able to recreate the problem on my own windows vista machine, but then again i just downloaded the latest driver from the CAT telecom website.
I suggested 2 options for fixing this.
1. Use the builtin dial-up networking in windows vista and create a
connection there and do not use the c-motech provided connection manager.
The instructions username/password and dial-up number if you need to set this
manually can be found here:
CDMA2000 EVDO CAT telecom connection configuration setup
OR
2. The latest xp driver provided from CAT telecom website will also work in
windows vista, i downloaded it and tested it on my vista machine, and it
did go pink, but it went smoothly out of dormant state everytime i made a
new connection to the outside by opening a page in a webbrowser etc.
And this was using the connection manager.
The latest driver for CCU-650 from CAT telecom can be obtained from here:

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI was just informed that not using the C-motech provided connection manager but instead using the builtin dial-up networking resolved this problem.
