The day after i arrived in Krabi i took the bus from Krabi to Had Yai.
Worked wonderfully with my CCU-650 on the CAT telecom subscription.
I was able to do VPN (secure connetion to my employer.) Aswell as doing RDP (connecting to remote customer systems.) and do my work related installation and configuration tasks through that connection.
When it comes to buying the CCU-650 modem from CAT telecom there are at least one thing to consider.
Buy the modem in the provinces from Ranong and upwards in the country you probably need a work permit to get your hands on it.
I know for a fact that in Ranong you need a work permit, and in Phuket and most likely southwards you do not need any work permit.
Supposedly all CAT telecom offices under administration of Had Yai does not require a work permit to obtain - buy the CCU-650.
But the CAT telecom offices under the administration of Bangkok does require such a work permit in your passport.
This most probably applies to other servics from CAT telecom aswell, such as ADSL and SDSL, though i havent affirmed this yet.
