CCU-650 product information page

Firstly insert your Cmotech CCU650 modem into an available USB slot.

Preferably the one on the right side, some have mentioned that their CCU650

did not get enough power and for that reason kept getting disconnected, this might have something to to with not all USB ports delivering enough power.

On my Macbook Pro Core Duo i have been connected for several days straight with this setup, with the modem connected to the slot on the right hand while facing your screen.

You need to enter System preferences in order to do this.

And then on To “Network”.

To add a new interface you need to press the small + sign in the bottom left

corner which you see in the below example picture.

You will now press create.

After you press create your connection will show up in the interface list on the left side.

user-pass.png

Username and password configuration should look like the above picture.

You will need to input these data yourself.

In most CAT telecom offices they might also do all of this for you.

The asterisk hides the password, but it should be typed in as “catevdo” without the “”.

On the “Advanced tab” of the username/password configuration you will find the modem configuration.
The above picture shows what this should look like.

Pressing the connect button will now get you online, you will see a timer which shows your connection time in the top right corner, you can also connect or disconnect directly from that timer.

This concludes the setup procedure for Macbook or a Macbook Pro running Leopard and using the CCU650 Modem from CMotech.

Now it is time to see if there is any improvement from the Sierra Wireless 580 card which i had before.
